Hi Angus,
Not sure if you would remember me but I seem to have stumbled across your web site.
I lived opposite you in Cawston, well Sygate/Southgate, you would remember my mother
and Father (Judith and Paul). Glad to hear that Kevin and Kath are ok,
had heard via your Dad that there had been a nasty accident.
Finding your site has bought back many distant memories of christmases past where we would
all congregate at your dad's for many drinks and good times.
Your dad is looking well, saw him only the other week. Anyway must go now as at work,
not sure if you will even get this but if you do then thats great,
if you don't, well why am I bothering to write the whole if you don't thing.
Bye for now.

Thank You, I just typed in how do I have a closer walk with God and your website came up.
I am struggling and your "A Random Walk With God" is helping.
I know who God is, ( I think) but I struggle with having Faith and in spending
personal time alone with HIM. Your scriptures and words have helped.

Have a question?? read almost your whole web site;;
my compliments. My question is:: when setting up contacts & newsletters to block
spam in OE i would like to know what happens to any names or domains not allowed?
Do they automatically go into the delete folder?
thanks your article a great help. advise please
ASC: Email from senders and domains on the block list are sent to
the Deleted Items folder in Outlook Express. From there, you can sift through them
and determine whether any given email is really junk or not.

but I'm trying to get more, and for that I need some visitors.
I only set it up a couple of weeks ago. I've put out several requests on forums.
I do run google ads on the page to help it pay for itself.
Just thought I'd let you know that. Anyway, check it out and see if you like it: Hidden Secrets of Software
I am going to put up a links page that will be availiable from the home page.
If you do decide to list me then can you send me the URL you would like me

Hi there, cool site! I came across it when I was looking for a certain email adress of a
person who seems to have nothing better to do than annoy me (by constantly registering
and hitting a forum which I run) and it seems that you have the exact same person spamming
in your guestbook. I was wondering wether you've been able to do anything against it or
if you had perhaps found out who it is? It'd be really nice if you could maybe get
in touch with me over this problem :) Cheers, Seb.
Hi Angus, I've been trying to build a guestbook and extradisambiguator has really been helpful.
I know you probbably get a lot of this and please do let me know if you can't help.
I've got two issues I don't have the expertise to resolve.
1. my web links in the guestbook include the entire path from my own site and I can't
simplify it to the weblink.
2. can't get the mail portion to work. I did notice that I needed to open the database again,
but mail isn't sent and it doesn't trigger any of the error messages.
I thought there was on off chance that you were familiar with these issues.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this. Randy

On the answer page of the grammar test you might consider revising the sentence:
"This is another pair of words that people seem to get confused over."
I believe that sentences should never end with a preposition.
ASC: Like you, I usually believe that placing prepositions at the end
of sentences is a practice up with which we should never put.

I love all this stuff on your site but I have one question.
I used your scanalyser yesterday on a HJT log with this entry.... O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{A3966A8C-3B29-499C-8B20-C574E509F9C6}:
NameServer = 64.136.20.121 64.136.28.121
The scanaylser signalled it by making the whole entry in RED with an "X"
and reported that it was somehow linked to jotti's virus list.
i.e. the IRC.Flood tribe. I think this must be an error as it relates to Juno and,
so far as I can find out, is not not bad. It should not be removed, I think.
Please let me know of I am misunderstanding something here.
Many thanks and keep up the good work. It is much appreciated. Gareth
ASC: O17 lines should not be matched by Jotti's Virus List as that only
matches filenames, which do not exist in O17 lines. However, there is a line containing the
word "System" as a filename which will match O17 lines. I think this is wrong.
At this time, no part of that O17 line exists in the
Miscellaneous Discovered Objects (MDO) O17 List,
but when I scanalyse it, I get it classified as (G) (Google). For an O17 line,
the IP address is looked up at
SamSpade and in this case it correctly resolves to
the legitimate company,
Juno Services Inc.
Resolution: Edit the Jotti's Virus List line and I'll alter the code to make the test more robust.
Personal reply sent.

Angus, Well it was cool until your grammar test gave me a bad score.
Yes, I am an American, however I do know that 13 correct answers out of 13 is not a score of 12.

By pure chance I came across your website.
Then, reading on I discovered that you lived in Cawston, Norfolk.
I lived a short distance away, and went to junior school there.
Then, to my amazement, scrolling down the list of others who have signed your
guestbook what did I see - but the name of the person who was my best friend while
I was at Cawston school and then later at Reepham School.
We lost touch with each other in 1969. I see that when he signed your guestbook,

It was a real pleasure to have seen a message from him, even though it is now rather old.

We will stay in China for 2 months. I would very much appreciate if you could give me some
advice about Hainan Island. Would this be a good place to travel to with my family?
I heard from some people who visited Hainan in 1990 that the Island was mainly a party
Island and therefore not so family friendly. However I know that they only stay at one
place on the Island. Things might have changed? Maybe there are some good places on the
Island more suitable for families? So I would be very grateful if you could give me some
advice and recommendations. Thanks and Best regards Mats Andersson

Note: This is after having read
the article on the Holy Trinity on this site.
The trinity need not be a mystery. As humans we can't truly understand everything in existence.
But somethings we can and need to get a better understanding of.
The trinity is a key truth which if understood correctly could change humanity.
The barrier to ultimate truth is human pride, prejudice and closed mindedness.
Every religion has the same truth at the core of it. But because people get so proud of
their religion and think that their religion is the one sole truth, no one ever truly
understands. Until a month ago I was an open minded agnostic, though sometimes may have
been atheist. I then came across some scientific evidence which has given me an understanding,
this has changed the way I look at everything. I'm now spending all my free time trying to
put my understanding into words and evidence that will help others see in the same way.
If there is one thing I can advise it would be that everyone should ask the question
why about everything they see, hear, do, worship, think. You may eventually come to
understand the truth of what Jesus was trying to teach. Trace everything you observe
back to its root. And you will come to the same answer every time, no matter what the
subject. I'm not a christian, muslim, hindu, buddhist, jew. I'm also all of them and more.
Every thought and action has some form of truth embedded in them, its just knowing how
to look and understand what part of the truth you are observing. A big block in aiding
people to understand the meaning behind the trinity is language. Some talk about God as
a human being. And think that human beings are the reason for creation.
While this is not false, its also not the total truth. God is everything in existence.
We are all the trinity. You are the son of god. You are also a father. And you are the
spirit. Think of the blood cells and bacteria contained within the body you control.
To those you are the father. Hopefully someone will be able to communicate this message
better than me so that everyone understands.

Dear Knowledgeable Web/Computer person,
I am a disabled Veteran who is frustrated with politicians that make promises but never
deliver once elected. I am interested in how grassroots organizations function and hope you
could provide me with some technical guidance to develop a web site. It is apparent that you
are highly dedicated and invest considerable time offering your expertise to others.
I would deeply appreciate any effort you may be able to provide. I was a FCC licensed
radio repair technician for 20 years; however, my web development skills are minimal.
I have a friend who does web programming that has offered to assist me. I'm not a programmer,
just doing some research so I can more effectively communicate with him and not take advantage
of his generosity. I can't afford an expensive off the shelf solution. I am now learning
some basic web skills, but realize I need to concentrate my efforts on content development
and business structure. Of critical importance is the development of a distributed volunteer
management system. Branch structure would involve moderation and management from many
independent group sites. I have seen a few open source C content Management systems that only
cost a few hundred dollars. I guess if one had several hundred groups that moderated BB
submissions and managed group personnel and activities, this software would also have to be
installed for every group. Any cost for multiple licenses would not be feasible. Any
thoughts on an open source CMS, using Linux server, PHP and mySQL
(webmasters suggestion) to run a grassroots Veterans support organization with open source
BLOG, BB, Email & RSS. Would require branches in 50 states with local & national management.
I believe Dean & Clark used open CMS in their Presidential campaigns. Any ideas on problems
with growth, capacity & speed with different programs/platforms. I noticed some organizations
use Yahoo groups for some group organization, messaging and email. Any advice on going this
route? I was surprised with both political websites performance when compared to a low
traffic sports BB I use. I only had dial up available at this point. DSL is coming.
Thanks for your help, Creig The following is one of many emails/letters my wife has sent
to politicians. I have spent considerable time trying to assist my husband struggling with a
governmental bureaucracy, as I know many other spouses have. He is a service connected
disabled veteran. We have tried to contact several presidential candidates concerning the
failure of elected officials to address his complaint with the Veterans Administration.
Our congressman requested his service records to document a disability claim. That was
seven years ago, the government still has not sent them. When asking for assistance from an
elected official or candidate, we usually never receive a response or we get a
computer-generated form letter acknowledgement, with no personal follow-up. This is one reply
we did receive: "Let's face it there's just not enough of us even with 26+ million
Veterans to raise enough votes (or money) to BEAT BUSH. --------- Well it probably wasn't
what you wanted to hear but at least you got a response." It is indeed sad that
26+ million veterans no longer have a voice in our government anymore.
Somehow, the disconnect between an elected official and a private citizen must be resolved.
I do not know what can be done, but would appreciate any general information you could
provide me. Thanks from Missouri, Cayla

I didn't know how else to contact you since I couldn't email you from
spywareinfo.com.
I tried to forward your home page from this site to a friend and she got a message
(hotmail inbox) saying that anything from you (as an attachment) has been permanently
blocked by msn. They will not allow "freeware.url" ... that is what they
called it. Weird ... or maybe not, I have only been 'puting for a year or so ... I could
be stupid .. who knows! All I know is that I was trying to send her to your site and
hotmail wouldn't allow it. They got a problem with you? Message says:
"Hotmail has permanently blocked the following potentially unsafe attachment(s):
freeware.url" They say that your site/address is unsafe! How do ya like them
apples??? Let me know if I am totally misreading this, k? Thanks and good luck. the kid
ASC: No, you're not being stupid. There seems to be an issue with
MSN at this time, but it seems that some ISPs block attachments anyway as a security
measure against viruses. I've sent you a personal reply; hope you soon get this sorted!
I see the poem "Gardener's Hymn" on your site, copyright Daloni Peel.
I am editor of the Whitehead Community News and someone has asked me to print this poem
in it, however, I would like to have the permission of the copyright owner first.
Can I contact her through you please?
ASC: Replied politely explaining that as I do not know the copyright
holder's contact details that I would be unable to do this.

"The age gap between Andrew and Debbie is 10 years ..." This is a misleading
statement. I note in your solution that Andrew is assumed as older than Debbie,
but the original prose doesn't make that clear. Just because Andrew is the oldest
son doesn't necessarily mean he's the oldest child - right? Anyway, I loved the
solution!
ASC: Yep, you're quite right. I've changed "eldest son"
to "eldest child" to fix this. Thanks!

Most of my studies about the Lord have been through the internet. I was reading through
your web site and stopped to read about Bible Studies. I am presently studying about how
the Holy Spirit fits in to the picture today. What you shared is very right on good!
It has helped me out in gaining more understanding in how to hear from Him. You have
anymore on this? I am interested in discipleship, I want to be discipled to follow after
Jesus ways. To hear from the Holy Spirit is essential to this to know what and how to
do what god has called me to do. I also like your photography with the one cat and all
the German Sheperds lined up. That is awesome! May the Lord bless you as you continue what
you do! Bless! Susan

Hexadecimal Words:
I was inspired by your Hexadecimal Words table to write this little shell script. :-)
cat words | tr "[:lower:]" "[:upper:]" | tr "[S][O][I][T]" "[5][0][1][7]" | grep "[0-9A-F]." | grep -v "[G-Z]"
It found 1,748 words in my dictionary (/usr/share/dict/words)!

I've been receiving lots of spam, including porno stuff, which I detest. All of it has
my E-Mail address in CAPS, indicating it was obtained from the same source. I created a
rule with my E-Mail address all in CAPS, deleting the CAPS version from the server, and
the yuk stopped. I was afraid I'd lose all my E-Mail with the rule, but those in lower case
still came in. I use Outlook Express 6.0. Do I have anything to worry about, here?
Is it possible I just didn't receive any yuk E-Mail that day? I don't want to miss
legitimate E-Mail, of course.

I took a look at your site and thought: 'hey this is pretty nice'. It's got some of your own
projects and is detailed and full of information. I have a website:
www.chongablonga.co.uk
and would like to offer you a link from my website to yours.
All I ask is that you do the same. Please contact me with your reply.
As you can see, my website gets quite a few hits, and the forum community is growing quite
quickly. I am sure this would increase traffic to both of our sites. Thank you, Tom
Nice site! you have done a great work! the layout and design are pleasant!
Would you like us to host your webpage for free for three months. you will be listed in
350 search engines for free! If you are interested, mail me.
Angus, Got your site from the
web pages that suck
comments board and as a fellow regular
and incurable insomniac I had a good look around your site. I really like the maths stuff
(mainly 'cos I have to strip naked to count to 21) and also the spam section because I
hate it but dont know nearly enough about fighting it. I have just coded an ASP email
form hoping that it deters spambots before my inbox gets filled with the stuff.
Thing is I have no idea if that is going to help or not!

Hi Today I got hospitalised - split my sides laughing!!! Great site - well
done. I wonder if you've ever come across a really cool organisation chart
that I saw on the web many years ago as it'd be great to find it to
illustrate some dull, tediously dull ISO9001 manuals. It consisted of the
brances of a tree with virtually no leaves. The large bird on the apex of
the tree looked very pleased with himself and important. On the next lower
tree level (two branches) there were 2 birds each coated with a small
dollop of bird mess. At lower levels there were more bird per branch with
an even greater covering of poo, and so on to the base of the tree.
Remind you of any organisations? If you know of it I would be very grateful
for the URL please. Best wishes, Stan (also an HND man)
